Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts

Code as a Liberal Art

Final Project

Should a liberal arts student learn to code? If so, when, why, and in what circumstances; if not, why not.

Moral relativist Response

There is no one answer to this question. It depends on the student's goals and interests. If the student wants to work in a technical field, then learning to code would be beneficial. However, if the student is interested in pursuing a career in the liberal arts, then learning to code might not be as useful. It really depends on the individual student's circumstances.
