Final Project

Should a liberal arts student learn to code? If so, when, why, and in what circumstances; if not, why not.

There are a few schools of thought on this matter. The first is that every student should learn to code, regardless of their chosen field of study. The logic behind this is that coding is becoming increasingly important in our society and that it is a useful skill to have, even if you don't plan on working as a programmer. The second school of thought is that liberal arts students should not learn to code unless they have a specific interest in it or plan on working in a field that requires it. The logic behind this is that liberal arts students already have a lot on their plate and that learning to code can be a time-consuming endeavor that takes away from other important subjects. Ultimately, the decision of whether or not a liberal arts student should learn to code comes down to the individual student and what they hope to gain from the experience.
