DRAWING RECORDS OF IN-CLASS BODY-BASED EXPLORATION: Container+Contents / Skins / What does it mean to inhabit? / What inhabits?
In class we discussed architecture being a third skin. Your first skin being the skin you are born with and your secind skin being clothing. This all correlated with the topic of contents and containers.
My first drawing is a abstract drawing of what I felt like during the meditation/concious awareness of my surroundings. The second page of drawings is al the things I thought of during discussion.
To inhabit means to take place in or live within. In a way everything inhabits within something else.

EMBODIED RESEARCH:
I visited Sarah Sze, Tanya Bonakdar Gallery. This exhibit/gallery made a large use of light and projections. The majority of the exhibit was made out of long slender sticks or dowels and paper which would catcht the beams of the projector. All of the structures that caught the beams of light were concave emphasizing the idea of catching and creating a nice field of vision. The pieces in the installment ranged from larger than me to the size of my head, so there was a large exploration of size. One way my body interacted with the site was by becoming part of the exhibit. Whwn i walked around the pieces my body would block certain parts of the projections creating a crisp silhoutte of myself on the pieces.
