3D printing has been arguably the largest outlet for my creativity and the reason that I am interested in product design as a whole. I first discovered 3D printing through youtube and immediately started saving up for a 3D printer. Eventually, the saving paid off and I could afford to build my first printer. Now I own 3 3D printers at home and have worked with over 9 of them. I started off printing other peoples models that I had found online but eventually that no longer satisfied my itch for creativity. This led me to teach myself how to 3D model and to take every class related to the topic at my highschool. I now have experience in programs such as Autodesk Maya and Autodesk Fusion 360. My first experience designing and printing for someone other than myself was a puppy wheelchair that I worked on for a dog named Rex who was born without his front two legs. Admittedly this was not my best work but that’s ok! I gained invaluable experience and learned so so much from working on this project. I hope to take the lessons I learned from this project and apply them in the future, further pushing the limits of 3d printing technology.
