Artist’s Statement
Glasses frames have become very premium items and often cost large amounts of money. Cheap frames exist but often quality is sacrificed. Production methods also do not help with driving these prices down. With the goal of democratizing glasses frames production, and disrupting the market, I plan to shift the production of glasses frames onto the consumer. Clients can purchase predesigned frame files online and print them out to their liking at home. This will also have a benefiting the environment as little to no overproduction will be done since consumers simply print to their needs. These glasses also have the intention of being modular and durable. The lenses are easily interchangeable and the flexible arms are held in place magnetically essentially making them indestructible in day to day use. Feel free to sit on them all you like!
